Sara Ali Khan starrer Ae Watan Mere Watan is finally out on Amazon Prime Video. The historical biographical film – which sees Sara bring to life Usha Mehta’s contribution to the Indian freedom struggle during the Quit India movement in 1942, is receiving much love from fans. Also starring Emraan Hashmi, Sparsh Shrivastav and Abhay Verma over 2-hour-long film is a must-watch.

Acting 

Sara Ali Khan has done justice to Usha Mehta’s legacy in the biographical drama and is one of the reasons you should watch it. However, she isn’t the only actor who shines bright in the biographical drama. Emraan Hashmi as Ram Manohar Lohia and Sparsh Shrivastav as Fahad beautifully capture the sentiments of the freedom fighters they play and leave a lasting impression.

Costume designer Ratna Dhanda has done a commendable job by staying true to 1940s India by incorporating print-free and cotton fabrics stitched together beautifully. The hair and make-up done by Serina Tixeria (Blending Edges) bring to life the prevailing fashion of the time. 

Visuals 

Set designers Amrita Mahal Nakai and Sabrina Singh have done an applause-worthy job in capturing the essence of 1940s Bombay. From recreating the narrow bylanes, tar roads and marketplace to the trams, buildings and more, the sets will take you back in time.
