Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, perform at WPL opening ceremony

The second season of the Women’s Premier League kickstarted on 23rd February at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The first match took place between last year’s finalists Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. For the opening ceremony of WPL, celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, and Kartik Aaryan made the evening special with their performances. Several videos from the star-studded are doing rounds.

Highlights of the WPL opening ceremony

In a picture shared by King Khan’s fan club, he is seen posing with Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Tiger Shroff. He also met the teams before the match. An adorable moment from the meeting was when King Khan shared a moment with Meg Lanning, and struck his trademark pose with her.

For the WPL opening ceremony, Shah Rukh Khan set the stage on fire with his electrifying performance. The superstar grooved to Jhomme Jo Pathaan and Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya.

He also gave an inspiring speech at the opening ceremony, and said, “If women have progressed in so many fields, then why not in sports? For the next 30 days, it’s not only about women and their power, it’s not only about cricket and the goodness of sports. It’s about the rise of women and to carve their place and the rise of queens in their Queendom.”

Apart from the Jawan actor, Shahid Kapoor performed on his iconic song Nagada from Jab We Met. The actor also grooved to the song Shaam Shandaar from the film Shandaar, in which he was featured with Alia Bhatt.

While Sidharth Malhotra made his dashing entrance to the remix version of the chartbuster song ‘Raata Lambiyan’ from Shershah. The Indian Police Force actor grooved to Kaala Chashma and Let’s Naacho accompanied by some talented dancers.

Heartthrob Kartik Aaryan also enthralled everyone with his performances. He entered the stage grooving to Hare Ram from Bhool Bhulaiyaa and then impressed everyone with his Haan Main Galat, Dil Chori Saada Ho Gaya and Akhiyo Se Goli Maare dance moves.

Apart from the aforementioned actors, Tiger Shroff and Varun Dhawan also performed at the event.
