Director Anees Bazmee has addressed the reports regarding Diljit Dosanjh’s departure from No Entry 2. It is a highly anticipated sequel to the 2005 comedy blockbuster. While news of Diljit’s exit has garnered attention, Bazmee emphasises his focus remains on completing the film, regardless of any casting changes.
Anees Bazmee REACTS To Diljit Dosanjh’s Exit From No Entry 2
He has reiterated that his priority is to make the film and is open to any alterations in the cast. Speaking to News18, Anees Bazmee stated, “I’m just happy that the film is getting made. There’s no bigger joy than that. At this point, woh hi ho raha hai jo upar waala chahta hai (Whatever is happening is the will of God). I work with a lot of earnestness and I leave the rest to God.”
Reflecting on the nature of filmmaking, Bazmee added, “It’s not like I’ve only worked with actors who’ve been my first choices on the films I’ve done so far. I’ve had to work with actors who were my second and even third choices. But once these films got released, audiences felt that those actors fit the characters perfectly and nobody else could’ve pulled off those parts the way they did.”
Despite the reported changes, Bazmee assured that all is well between him and Diljit. He described Diljit as a “very honest and talented” actor and revealed that their meeting was brief. He recalled that Diljit had agreed to do the film almost immediately after hearing the basic premise, expressing his admiration for the actor’s trust in Bazmee’s vision. The director mentioned, “Diljit loved the first No Entry and trusted my vision. His simplicity struck me, and he didn’t even wait for a full narration before committing.”
