During a press conference, Aamir Khan apologised for misleading fans about the film’s release on YouTube. He said, “I tell you that… jo jo log mujhse poocha tha ki aapki film Youtube pe aa rahe hai toh main aapse hath jod ke maafi mangta hu maine jhooth bola. Kyunki main aur kuch bol nai paa raha tha. Aamir On Sitaare Zameen Par’s OTT Release

Aamir didn’t just clarify the release date; in a podcast with Raj Shamani, he also made it clear that Sitaare Zameen Par will have no OTT release at all—no on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Disney+ Hotstar. “Sitaare Zameen Par jo aayegi, sirf theatre mein aayegi,” he confirmed.

He further added, “After Sitaare, films like Lagaan (2001), Taare Zameen Par (2007), and Peepli Live (2010) will be available on the channel. Some timeless classics produced or associated with my late father, Tahir Hussain, such as Caravan (1971) and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), will also be accessible, offering a rare blend of nostalgia and cinematic heritage.”

The 60-year-old actor explained that he also intends to use this platform to promote young and independent filmmakers who struggle to secure theatrical releases. “By showcasing their films on the channel, I wish to provide visibility and opportunity to emerging talent. While we will take a nominal fee from the earnings, the idea is to ensure creators benefit directly from their own work,” said Aamir.
