Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s Jolly LLB 3 is reportedly targeting a release date of October 2; if it releases on Gandhi Jayanti, it will face competition from Rishab Shetty’s mythological film Kantara Chapter 1. Jolly LLB 3 is one of the most anticipated films of 2025. Although the official release date has been announced for September, recent updates suggest that the makers are considering a different plan. According to reports, they are eyeing October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti) as the new release date.
Jolly LLB 3 To Face BO Clash With Kantara Chapter 1
Per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, the film’s producers are contemplating shifting its release from September to a Gandhi Jayanti opening. A source told, “As of now, Jolly LLB 3 is scheduled to release on September 19. But discussions are going on for a grand release on October 2. The team, including Akshay Kumar and Subhash Kapoor, is confident that they have made an entertaining, family film which is apt for a holiday release.” Since October 2 falls on a Thursday, it could give the film a four-day extended weekend at the box office.
About Jolly LLB 3
The film will feature a face-off between Kumar and Warsi (who starred in the first instalment) as lawyers. Saurabh Shukla will be reprising his role as the judge. The first Jolly LLB was released in 2013, followed by its sequel in 2017. The report also indicates that if the release date shifts to October 2, it may clash with Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1. With Kantara garnering a huge fan following and releasing in multiple languages, it promises to make for an interesting box office showdown.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay Kumar recently delivered Kesari Chapter 2. His last appearance was in the comedy Housefull 5, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
