Dr. Ravi Charan Palwai, an ENT specialist, explained to HT Lifestyle that sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) often develops through sounds becoming dull or muffled, making conversations in noisy settings particularly challenging. Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma emphasized additional early warning signs, such as difficulty hearing high-pitched sounds, a sensation of fullness in the ear, tinnitus, and potential balance issues.

The immense support from Alka’s fans and colleagues has been overwhelming. Messages from fellow artists like Sonu Nigam and Shankar Mahadevan, among many others, have filled her comment section with words of encouragement and well-wishes for her recovery. As Alka Yagnik adjusts to this new reality, her story serves as a sorrowful reminder of the importance of hearing health and early intervention.
