The creators of “Oppenheimer,” Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas, are soon to be honored with a royal distinction. As per a recent announcement by the U.K. government, this dynamic duo, who are also life partners, will be conferred with the titles of knight and dame, respectively. These honors are typically granted to British citizens who have made noteworthy contributions to the fields of arts, humanities, or sports.

The recognition for Nolan and Thomas comes hot on the heels of their film “Oppenheimer” sweeping various awards, including the Oscars. Interestingly, the announcement was made at an atypical time of the year, coinciding with New Year’s Day and King Charles’ birthday. However, the King will not be presenting the awards immediately due to a temporary pause in his royal duties for health reasons.

“Oppenheimer,” directed by Nolan and produced by Thomas, is a cinematic portrayal of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man credited with the creation of the nuclear bomb used in World War 2. The film boasts a stellar cast, with Cillian Murphy in the titular role, supported by Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, and others.
