Complaint filed against Ranbir Kapoor for ‘hurting religious sentiments’ by chanting ‘Jai Mata Di’, here’s why

Ranbir Kapoor and his family recently came together to celebrate Christmas. A video of Ranbir chanting ‘Jai Mata Di’ while pouring liquor on cake also went viral on social media. However, the viral video has not gone down well with Mumbai resident named Sanjay Tiwari, who has accused Ranbir of ‘hurting religious sentiments’ by chanting ‘Jai Mata Di’ while pouring liquor on the cake.

Ranbir Kapoor lands in trouble over viral Christmas video

According to PTI, Sanjay Tiwari filed the complaint at Ghatkopar Police Station through his lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra. The complaint said, “In Hinduism, fire God is invoked before invoking other deities, but Ranbir and his family members deliberately used intoxicants while celebrating the festival of another religion and chanted ‘Jai Mata Di’”.

The complainant asked for the actor to be booked under section 295 (A), 298, 500 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). For the uninitiated, the police has not yet registered any FIR (First Information Report). On the other hand, Ranbir is yet to react to the same.

Every year, the Kapoor family come together for the annual Christmas lunch. This year, Ranbir and Alia revealed their daughter Raha’s face for the first time. Raha, who is one-year-old, stole hearts with her cuteness.

On the work front, Ranbir delivered a blockbuster with Animal. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri. For the unversed, Animal has crossed the Rs 800 crores at the worldwide box office. On the other hand, Ranbir is yet to announce his next movie.
