She was surrounded by her husband Anand Ahuja and their son Vayu, making it a warm, family-filled event. On the professional front, Sonam has earned acclaim for her performances in films like Neerja, Raanjhanaa, Veere Di Wedding, and Delhi 6. After welcoming her son, she took a break from acting to focus on her family. Her latest appearance was in the 2023 crime thriller Blind, directed by Shome Makhija. It featured Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey. The film is a remake of the 2011 Korean movie of the same name. The story follows a visually impaired police officer searching for a serial killer.
Looking ahead, Sonam is reportedly set to star in Battle of Bittora. It is based on Anuja Chauhan’s 2010 novel. The story centres on two young politicians who fall in love but end up competing against each other in elections. The project will be produced by Anil Kapoor Films in collaboration with Communication Network.
