Patralekhaa On Being Typecast In Bollywood

When asked if she was typecast after her role in City Light with Rajkummar Rao, Patralekhaa said, “I don’t have an answer for that because I was never offered anything after City Lights. So I don’t know whether I was being boxed in or if I wasn’t. Yes, I had to, after sitting at home for 8 to 9 months. When City Lights was released and I started getting reviews and love coming my way, I was like, ‘Alright, now it’s happened.’

She continued, “Yeah, I felt like I had become an actor. At that point, I thought I’d have a lot of work. But actually, nothing came my way. And then I went to Bhatt sir, and I was very overwhelmed—he could see it. Bhatt Sir is a very kind soul. Whatever he was working on at the time, he offered it to me, and I took it up.”
