Aaditi Pohankar is an actress who appears in Hindi, Marathi and Tamil films and web series. She had her breakthrough role alongside Riteish Deshmukh in the Marathi action film Lai Bhaari (2014). She gained wider attention for her roles in the Hindi web series She and Aashram (both 2020–present). In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Aaditi S Pohankar reveals that her first awkward moment was on the sets of Riteish Deshmukh’s Lai Bhaari.
Aaditi S Pohankar Recalls Shooting For Riteish Deshmukh’s Lai Bhaari With Thermacol
When asked about her first awkward moment on sets, Aaditi S Pohankar recalled, “On the set of Lai Bhaari, it happened because on that particular day, Riteish sir had to leave. He had another shoot or something like that. So, they shot his parts first and told me, and this was my first film, right? I had no idea what was happening. Now this person is standing there, and I don’t know why. He’s just standing, and I’m thinking, ‘Is he going to do something? Like, come up to me or something?’ There was a man standing there holding a thermocol (foam board), and I said, ‘Who’s that?’ They said, ‘Okay, action!’ And I said, ‘But where is he?!’”
She added, “I thought I was supposed to look into his eyes and deliver my lines, right? But he had already left! So I had to speak to the thermocol instead. And I was like—‘How do I talk to thermocol?!’ That take actually happened! And it just went on and on—like, ‘Ah okay, one minute, one minute.’ Then I started thinking… Then I was looking anywhere I could find eyes to look at, and I was just like, ‘Okay, I guess I’m talking to that person now.’ “
Concluding, the actress said, “And, then finally, they placed it in such a way, and Nishi sir— Nishikant Kamat sir stood there. And he said, ‘Meri maa, just say the line. Say it to me.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, I did it.’ I didn’t know about all this, it was very awkward then, but now, when I think about it, I laugh, you know? Also, just saying, I never bullied any newcomers on set.”

Lai Bhaari was a 2014 Marathi-language action drama film directed by Nishikant Kamat. The film marks the debut of Riteish Deshmukh in Marathi cinema, while Salman Khan and Genelia D’Souza also make cameo appearances. It was the first Marathi film that was made on such a big scale, film became the highest-grossing Marathi film during that time. It was declared a blockbuster at the box office.
