Anjini Dhawan On NOT Being Launched By Her Family In Bollywood

When asked about her family not launching their kids in Bollywood, Anjini Dhawan said, “I think definitely it’s special, and people know you for something that you have done. It always makes you feel special. It makes you feel like, ‘Okay, I have done something.’ That feeling always stays. I said that with my family, so it’s always been very clear that I didn’t do it for anyone. Not for Rohit Bhaiya, not for Varun Bhaiya, not even me. Initially, when my dad wanted to act, I didn’t do it for him either, not at all. The concept was only mine.”

The Sikandar actress recalled, “It’s like my grandfather always says, ‘If you truly deserve something, if you really deserve it, you will 110% get it. And you will get it on your own. And if you get it on your own, you will feel 100 times better about yourself than someone getting it for you because that’s yours.’ Or by all means, yes. So, it’s that, and you know, he always tells me, ‘If anyone believes it or not, if people even feel like, ‘Okay, you know, you had it easy, and someone gave it to you,’ he’s like, ‘You know it yourself.’”

Concluding, she said, “When you walk somewhere, when you enter an interview or your film’s trailer, you know in your heart that you did this and how you did it, and it will show on your face. So he said, ‘Don’t have to bother about what anyone says or doesn’t say. If they want to think that you got the film easily, it’s fine. You know in your heart, and it will show on your face.’ So that’s something he always says, and you know, getting something done yourself always makes you feel special.”
