EXCLUSIVE: Sonali Bendre Recalls Shooting For 10 Days In Real Rain For Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh Jo Haal Dil Ka Song

Sonali Bendre is an actress predominantly known for her work in Hindi and Telugu films. Considered as one of the leading actresses of the 1990s and early 2000s, Bendre started her career as a model and marked her acting debut with Aag (1994). In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sonali Bendre recalls rubbing Brandy on her feet while shooting Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh.

Sonali Bendre Felt Like A Comic Relief In Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh

When shown a picture with Aamir Khan while filming Sarfarosh, Sonali Bendre said, “It was definitely Ashlee’s idea as the designer. And she, along with John and Matthew, had worked it all out. The whole film had such a serious tone, and I always told John that I was the comic relief in it. I genuinely believed that. I laughed about it all the time. So basically, throughout all of that, it was like—whatever colour I wore, that’s the colour shirt Aamir would wear.”

She added, “It was proper colour coordination. And it’s a beautiful song, you know? The beats were lovely—Raju had done this song. We were shooting in Panhala, across all those mountains and that entire range, with real rain—10 full days of real rain on set. By the end of it, we were rubbing Brandy on our feet because we were frozen. And I just thought, ‘You know what? I’m done with rain songs.’ I think I need to put it in my contract, if there’s a rain song, tell me now. I’m not doing the movie!”
