Vishal Jethwa is a well known actor thanks to his stellar performance as Akbar in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap and Sunny in the Mardaani 2. The 31-year-old is all set to impress the audience soon in Dharma Production’s next Homebound. The actor – who began his acting actor with a pivotal role in Sony TV’s Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, recently sat down with Bollywood Bubble for a podcast and revealed how he landed this gig.

Vishal Jethwa On Bagging Akhbar’s Role In Maharana Pratap
Talking about how he landed the gig of Akhbar on Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Vishal Jethwa said, “Teesra Akbar change hua tab jaake mujhe mauka mila. Main third replacement tha Akbar ka. First Akbar jab aaya tha Maharana Pratap mein toh kissi karan se woh nahi kar paya tab mein sirf shortlist tha. Second time mauka mila, main gaya, almost casting hone hi wali thi fir meri selection fir nahi hui. Maine bolo, ‘Fir haath se chala gaya role. Fir woh (he second actor) replace hua kissi karan se aur mere naseeb mein shayad bhagwan ne woh role tha” He continued, “Main Akbar jaise lagta bhi nahi tha, Main itna patla-sukda (tha)…”
Vishal: Main Apne Ko Maharana Pratap Mein Cast Na Karta
Talking about his casting, the ‘Mardaani 2’ actor added, “Main hamesha kehta hu Janet ma’am ne meri casting ki thi aur (ab jab main) peeche mudh ke dhekta hu toh mujhe aise lagta hai agar main ma’am ke jagah hota toh shayad main Vishal Jethwa ko usme cast na karta. Mujhe aise lagta tha is ladke ko koi kaise Akbar ke role mein cast kar sakta hai.”
Talking about how they made the ‘patla’ Vishal look bulky to play Akbar, Jethwa continued, “Mujhe andar aur ek layer of kapda pehnate the taki main thoda mota lagu fir bhi main aisa lagta tha ki yeh toh koi peasant hai. Dheere dheere mujhe award mil gaya is performance ke liye. Toh audition aaj tak hai part of the process (to get a role)”
