Vishal Jethwa played a young chaaiwala in the late actor Irrfan Khan’s film, Hindi Medium. The 31-year-old star is now gearing up for his upcoming film, Homebound. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Vishal recalled that he never wanted to do a small role in the comedy drama. He also mentioned how far a Gujarati will go if they begin their careers as a chaaiwala.
Vishal Jethwa On Doing 10-Second Role In Irrfan Khan’s Hindi Medium
When shown a picture of him with Irrfan Khan from the film Hindi Medium, Vishal Jethwa said, “Ye tasveer hai, ye The Great Legendary actor Irrfan Khan sir ke saath meri photo hai. Maine Hindi Medium film mein ek chhota sa role kiya tha. I think 10-15 second ka role tha, aur maine chai waale ka role kiya tha. Zabardasti kiya tha. Mujhe uss time pe yeh kaam karna nahi tha, because I felt ki it is so small that I shouldn’t do it. But then I realised ki Bhagwan ne mere liye yeh mast role bheja hai. Aur aap logon ko pata hai, jab koi Gujarati apne career ki shuruaat ek chai waale ke roop mein karta hai, toh woh kitna aage jaata hai!”

Hindi Medium was a 2017 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film written and directed by Saket Chaudhary. It was produced by Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under their respective banners Maddock Films and T-Series. The film starred Irrfan Khan, Saba Qamar, Dishita Sehgal, Deepak Dobriyal and Amrita Singh.
