He reminded me of Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda made an impressive debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies alongside Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor. He is currently preparing for his role of Arun Khetarpal for Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis. The director is receiving a rave response for his recent release Merry Christmas. In a recent interview, he recalled Agastya Nanda reminding him of Amitabh Bachchan from Anand when they met first time.

Sriram Raghavan draws similarity between Agastya Nanda and Amitabh Bachchan

In an interview, the director said, “When I first met him he reminded me of Amitabh (Bachchan) in Saat Hindustani and Anand. He’s got a certain charm and he looks the part also and I am looking forward working with him. He’s a guy who is refreshingly normal and there’s no bells and whistles. I have seen his The Archies and I loved the film, I loved his character and many other characters in the film. So I know he knows the process of the film and now I am looking at diving with him into more subjects.”

Talking about Ikkis, along with Agastya, it stars veteran actor Dharmendra. The film, produced by Maddock Films, will go on floors in February. It is a war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. For those unversed, before Agastya Nanda, Varun Dhawan was approached for the role. However, he backed out due to date issues.
