Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar – starring Ranveer Singh. Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in pivotal parts, is impressing audiences across the globe. While the film has amasses an NBOC of Rs 130.80 crore domestically and around Rs 42.48 crore overseas, the spy action thriller has also earned its makers a huge sum with the amount Netflix paid for its streaming rights. Netflix Buys OTT Rights Of Dhurandhar For Rs 130 Cr
As per a recent Bollywood Hungama report, Netflix has shelled out as much as the film earned domestically in four days to secure its streaming rights. Talking about the deal, a source in the know shared, “Netflix has paid Rs 130 crores for the streaming rights of Dhurandhar. This includes both parts. Hence, one can say that the rights were sold for around Rs. 65 crores each for Dhurandhar Part 1 and Part 2.”
The insider further added, “Nevertheless, this is a huge figure in today’s times when the OTT prices have crashed. Also, it is a significant shot-in-the-arm for Ranveer Singh. This is his biggest OTT deal yet, if we count the amount given to both parts of Dhurandhar.”
In 2021, the OTT rights of Ranveer Singh’s sports film ’83 was sold to Netflix for Rs 30 crore while that of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was brought by Amazon Prime Video for Rs 80 crore.
