Spotify, the popular music streaming service, is making changes to its free offering in India. Free users in India will no longer be able to play songs in a specific order, repeat songs, or go back to their previous songs. These features will now be exclusive to Premium subscribers. However, free users can still enjoy listening to their favorite artists, albums, playlists, and receive song recommendations.

This change is significant because it had initially provided these features for free since its launch in 2019. The company decided to update its free tier due to the maturing Indian market. This means that Spotify’s free service in India will be more similar to what they offer in Brazil.

For those looking for a more enhanced experience, It’s offers premium plans in India. The premium subscription starts at ₹7 per day and includes ad-free music on mobile devices. Additionally, premium subscribers can download up to 30 songs on a single mobile device. There is also a ₹119 per month subscription that allows users to download up to 10,000 songs on up to 5 devices.
