Sujoy Ghosh grateful to Vidya Balan
During an interaction with Mashable India, Sujoy Ghosh opened up about Vidya Balan’s dedication during Kahaani and how she would change clothes in a car due to their low budget. Sujoy also praised the actress for sticking to her word and working with him despite his previous film, Alladin, flopping at the box office. Read on to know what he said.
Praising Vidya, Sujoy said, “I saw Vidya when she was at Sanjay Gupta’s office to hear a narration from Meghna Gulzar. I gave her ₹1 that day and told her we’d make a movie together. She saved me; she was Kahaani. She could’ve easily said no after Aladin, but she stuck to it. You have no idea; we had no budget. So, we had no vanity van. We used to cover an Innova with black cloth and she would change inside. She’s so dedicated.”
During the same conversation, the filmmaker compared Vidya to Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan stating that she too is ‘zubaan ki pakki’ (sticks to her word) like Big B and SRK.
