Sakshi’s journey into acting began with her passion for entertainment. She recalls, “I think I always wanted to do some form of entertainment from watching my favorite music and TV idols on screen, but there is one defining moment for me that really made it all click.”
Growing up in a family deeply connected to the entertainment industry, with her father being a renowned choreographer and director, Sakshi was introduced to the glitz and glamour of showbiz at an early age. She humorously recalls, “I started going to shows, and shootings when I was around 2 years old, you can say before I was even born!”
However, it was a trip to the movie theater that ignited Sakshi’s passion for acting. “Sitting in that movie theater, I remember being so amazed. It was so incredible for me that something that had previously existed only in my imagination was now being played out in real life, and I could imagine myself in that character on screen. That was it. That’s what I wanted to do. I wanted to do what those actors were doing. It was magic.”
Crafting Characters with Precision
As her acting career blossomed, Sakshi encountered memorable and challenging roles that showcased her immense talent. She emphasizes the importance of preparation, stating, “The right frame of mind is essential for any role, understanding the depth of the character is more important. The basic mantra I follow is ‘Prepare, Practice & Perform,’ and the most important is to believe in your work. If I believe in it, I will be able to make the audience believe in that particular character.”
Auditioning with Resilience
The audition process in the entertainment industry can be arduous, but Sakshi’s determination shone through. She offers advice to aspiring actors, “The key to getting in is to just keep performing, auditioning, and not giving up at the end of the day.” She even shares a humorous anecdote of auditioning in Hyderabad for a Telugu film, where initially, she felt lost in translation but now speaks Telugu fluently.
A Harmonious Collaboration
In addition to her acting endeavors, Sakshi Mhadolkar has ventured into the world of music with a recent collaboration that’s gaining attention. Mehboob ji, celebrated for penning iconic songs like “Ma Tujhe Salaam,” “Pal,” “School Chale Hum,” “Rangeela,” “Bombay,” and “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,” teamed up with new-age music composer Ishwar Kumar and the renowned singer Kunal Ganjawala to create a pure indie song titled “Naina Chhalke.” This melodious track features Sakshi Mhadolkar and Suhrud, with choreography directed by Jeet Singh. The song has already been released and is capturing hearts.
