Jimmy Shergill on being consistent after Mohabbatein
When asked about how did he stay consistent after Mohabbatein and what made his career different from other Mohabbatein actors. Jimmy Shergill said, “Gulzar saab. He had told me the most important thing for an actor is to keep working. Just keep yourself busy, it’s gonna pull you through a lot of things and I just kept myself busy. I just kept going. Because I needed to also. I had to earn a living, I had to be independent, I had to do things on my own. Everybody knows that you can’t have a family supporting you throughout.”
He added, “So, I did not have that luxury of choosing and doing one film in one year-one and a half year. That’s where whatever Gulzar saab had said, keep yourself busy as an actor. Just be doing something or the other. Because you don’t know what will work and what will not. That’s not in your hands. Never let the fate of the film become your fate. So just keep working and that’s what I did.”
Well, Mohabbatein carried a stellar star cast of Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Jimmy Shergill, Jugal Hansraj, Shamita Shetty, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra, Preeti Jhangiani, Kim Sharma among others.
